Ruling

26CV175751: HOM vs HIGH POWER PROPERTIES, INC., et al. 08/11/2026 Initial Case Management Conference in Department 15

Tentative Ruling - 08/05/2026 Peter Borkon

ORDER RE: CASE MANAGEMENT

The Court has ordered the following after review of the case, including timely filed Case Management Statements, without a conference.

The Court has reviewed the default judgment packet and has concerns about the validity of service on Defendant Valdez. The proof of substitute service states that a "person in charge" was served. It is unclear what authority that recipient might have or why they are authorized to accept service for Valdez.

Counsel should appear to discuss this issue.

FURTHER CONFERENCE A Case Management Conference is scheduled for 11/10/2026 at 02:30 PM in Department 15.

Updated Case Management Statements in compliance with Rule of Court 3.725, on Judicial Council Form CM-110, must be filed no later than 10/26/2026. If the foregoing date is a court holiday or a weekend, the time is extended to the next business day.

Department 15 is inviting you to a scheduled ZoomGov meeting on 08/11/2026 at 2:30 PM. The Judicial Officer prefers all parties to be on camera, and for parties to log in using their full name (first and last). This can be tested before the hearing at https://zoom.us/test.
