(a)The fee for issuance or renewal of a license not otherwise provided for by this section is $32. (a-1) The fee for a personal identification certificate issued under Section 501.0165, Government Code, Section 841.153, Health and Safety Code, or Section 245.0536, Human Resources Code, is $5. (a-2) Except as provided by Subsection (a-1), the department by rule shall establish the fee for a personal identification certificate or driver's license issued to a person whose residence or domicile is a correctional facility or a parole facility. (a-3) Except as provided by Subsections (a-1) and (a-2), the fee for a driver's license or personal identification certificate that is issued to a person who is not a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States or a refugee or asylee lawfully admitted into the United States and that is valid for not more than one year is $24.

(b)The fee for renewal of a Class M license or for renewal of a license that includes authorization to operate a motorcycle is $43.

(c)The fee for issuance of a provisional license or learner license is $15.

(d)The fee for issuance or renewal of an occupational driver's license is $10.

(e)An applicant who changes from a lower to a higher class of license or who adds a type of vehicle other than a motorcycle to the license shall pay a $10 fee for the required examination.

(f)An applicant applying for additional authorization to operate a motorcycle shall pay a $15 fee for the required application.
