Petitioner Broadcast Music Inc.’s petition to confirm contractual arbitration award is DENIED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. (Code Civ. Proc., § 1280 et seq.) Petitioner did not submit proof that the petition (filed January 20, 2026) was served on respondent Langstaff & Wan fka Langstaff Inc. dba Sophias Thai Kitchen “in the manner provided by law for the service of summons in an action.” (Code Civ. Proc., §§ 1290.4, subds. (a) & (b), 415.10 et seq.)

Respondent’s request to vacate arbitration award is DENIED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. (Code Civ. Proc., § 1286.2.) Respondent did not submit proof that its “response requesting that the award be vacated [was] duly served” on petitioner. (Code Civ. Proc., §§ 1286.4, subd. (a), 1288.2, 1290.6, 1290.8.)

If no hearing is requested, this tentative ruling is effective immediately. No formal order pursuant to California Rules of Court, rule 3.1312 or further notice is required.
