Tentative Rulings. Oral argument should address the tentative decision. To submit on the tentative decision, email courtroom44@ventura.courts.ca.gov before 8:00 a.m. on the hearing date, copying all other parties. Use the subject line “SUBMISSION ON TENTATIVE”, [Case Number], [Case Title] and [Party]. If not all parties submit, the hearing will proceed, and the tentative ruling may change.

The Court may adopt, modify or reject the tentative ruling after hearing. The tentative ruling has no legal effect unless and until adopted by the Court.

Motions:

1. Defendant Ford Motor Company’s Motion to Compel Plaintiff Juan Sebastian’s Deposition and Request for Monetary Sanctions against Plaintiff and Strategic Legal Practices, APC, Jointly and Severally in the Amount of $560

2. Defendant Ford Motor Company’s Motion to Compel Plaintiff Jessica Ruiz’s Deposition and Request for Monetary Sanctions against Plaintiff and Strategic Legal Practices, APC, Jointly and Severally in the Amount of $560

Tentative Ruling:

Defendant Ford Motor Company’s motions to compel plaintiffs, Juan Sebastian and Jessica Ruiz (“Plaintiffs”) depositions, and associated request for monetary sanctions are GRANTED.

Both Plaintiffs shall appear for their deposition on a mutually agreeable date within 14 days of this order, unless the parties agree in writing to a later date.

Plaintiffs’ request to continue the hearing to September 22, 2026 is DENIED.

Ford’s request for monetary sanctions is GRANTED. Plaintiffs and counsel for Plaintiffs shall jointly pay monetary sanctions of $560 for each motion, or a total of $1,120 to Defendant Ford Motor Company within 30 days.
