LUNA) 11) 12 REQUEST FOR ORDER RE: CHANGE MINOR'S NAME TO ADD FATHER'S 13 TENTATIVE RULING 14 Having read and considered the pleadings, declarations, and other evidence submitted in this matter, the 15 Court makes the following findings and orders: 16 A. Procedural History 17 1) The parties are Petitioner Ruben Alvarado (Father) and Respondent Lux Marina Aguilera 18 (Mother).

They share one minor child: Camila Yareli Aguilera Canales (DOB: 8/5/21). 19 2) On 2/17/26, Father filed a Request for Order seeking to change the minor child’s name from 20 Camila Yareli Aguilera Canales to Camila Yareli Alvarado Canales to include Father’s name. 21 This matter was set for hearing on 4/30/26. 22 3) 3/10/26, Mother filed a Responsive Declaration in opposition to Father’s Request for Order. 23 Mother asserts that Father neither cared for nor provided financially supported the minor child. 24 Mother states that she wants the minor child to decide for herself if she would like to change her 25 name when she gets older. 26 4) The Court notes the following relevant orders: 27 a.

Per the 12/24/24 Findings and Order After Hearing (FOAH), Father has visitation with 28 the minor child every Thursday from 4 PM to 9 PM and every other weekend from 29 Friday at 4 PM to Sunday at 9 PM. See FOAH filed 1/16/25.

1 b. On 1/8/26, judgment establishing parentage was entered. 2 B. Findings and Order 3 1) This Court has jurisdiction to make child custody orders in this case under the Uniform Child 4 Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. A violation of this order may subject the party in 5 violation to civil or criminal penalties, or both. The country of habitual residence of the minor 6 child(ren) is the United States. 7 2) Father’s request to change the minor child’s name to Camila Yareli Alvarado Canales to include 8 Father’s name is GRANTED. The minor child’s name shall be reflected as Camila Yareli 9 Alvarado Canales. 10 3) The Court will prepare the Findings and Order After Hearing. 11
