RG21108716: Janco Industries, Inc VS Williams 08/07/2026 Case Management Conference re Recommendation No. 22 in Department 25

Tentative Ruling - 08/06/2026 Jenna Whitman

ORDER RE: CASE MANAGEMENT

The Court has ordered the following after review of the case.

PARTIES TO APPEAR, specifically, counsel for Ellen Williams. Any other party with an interest in Discovery Referee Recommendation No. 22, and/or the Discovery Referee, if they wish to comment on Williams' objection or respond to the Court's questions, below, may also appear to address the following (and provide other relevant information):

Case management orders and discovery referee recommendations/orders indicate that a facilitated expert exchange was initially scheduled for July 2025, then rescheduled repeatedly, in part because Williams failed to serve her preliminary statement of claims. That statement was originally due in early June 2025. CMO No. 7 indicates that Williams still had not served it as of late January, 2026, and Discovery Recommendation/Order No. 1 ordered her to update her statement of claims by 3/2/2026 and rescheduled the facilitated expert meeting to 3/31/2026. Did the facilitated expert meeting occur on 3/31/2026? If so, did Williams' experts participate?

Case management orders also set deadlines for expert designations. Did Williams timely designate the experts that she now objects to producing? Were those experts' depositions timely noticed? Did Williams object to producing them before now, on this ground?

Discovery Recommendation/Order No. 5 set new deadlines for conducting expert depositions, between 5/18/2026 and 7/17/2026. Were these dates discussed at the hearing on 3/30/2026? Did Williams object at that hearing that her experts had been unable to participate in an experts' exchange? Did Williams file an objection on this ground to Recommendation/Order No. 5?

The parties were previously ordered to provide dates for their own experts' depositions in Recommendation/Order No.

18. Did Williams object to producing experts for deposition at that discovery conference? After that recommendation was served on 7/17/2026, did Williams file an objection?
