The Motion for Leave to File a Cross-Complaint filed by Oakland Vision Project, a corporation on 03/19/2026 is Granted.

On March 19, 2026, Defendant Oakland Vision Project requested leave to file a cross-complaint against Defendants 49th Avenue LLC and Intervention Group, Inc. (Egan Decl., ex. A.)

Defendant Oakland Vision Project seeks permission to file a cross-complaint against Defendant 49th Avenue LLC on the basis that it retained exclusive management over the property’s common areas and further seeks indemnity against Defendant Intervention Group, Inc. who provided the security guard in charge of controlling the security gate.

There is no opposition on file to this motion and therefore has presented no evidence of prejudice. Absent a showing of prejudice to the adverse party, the rule of great liberality in allowing amendment of pleadings will prevail. (Board of Trustees v. Superior Court (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 1154, 1163.)

Defendant, Oakland Vision Project’s unopposed motion for leave to file a cross-complaint is therefore GRANTED. (Ibid.; Code Civ. Proc., §§ 473, subd. (a)(1); 576.) Defendant Oakland Vision Project shall file and serve its cross-complaint no later than August 7, 2026.
