Defendant the Regents of the University of California's unopposed motion to compel and for sanctions is granted as stated herein. The Regents served on plaintiff Katherine Collins a request for statement of damages, form interrogatories, two sets of special interrogatories, and requests for production of documents. (Telfer Decl., para. 3.) Collins has not responded, despite the Regents' meet and confer attempts. (Id., paras. 6-8.)
Collins is ordered to provide a statement of damages by August 12, 2026. By the same day, she shall provide complete, verified, objection-free responses to the form interrogatories, special interrogatories sets one and two, and requests for production. The Regents seek sanctions. Failure to respond to discovery is a misuse of the discovery process, and the Regents' request is reasonable. Collins shall pay $2100 to the Regents by August 24, 2026.
