Ruling

25CV134595: WILLIAMS vs GODS LOVE OUTREACH MINISTRIES, A CALIFORNIA NONPROFIT CORPORATION 07/21/2026 Hearing on Motion to be Relieved as Counsel filed by GODS LOVE OUTREACH MINISTRIES, a California Nonprofit Corporation (Defendant) CRS# 518473440858 in Department 21

Tentative Ruling - 07/16/2026 S. Raj Chatterjee

The Motion to Be Relieved as Counsel filed by GODS LOVE OUTREACH MINISTRIES, a California Nonprofit Corporation on 06/16/2026 is Granted.

The motion of Law Offices o Seth W. Weiner to withdraw as counsel for defendant Gods Love Outreach Ministries (“GLOM”) is GRANTED.

The motion is not opposed. The motion and declaration are substantially in conformity with Mandatory Judicial Council Forms MC-051 and MC-052.

The court will sign the proposed order. Counsel must serve the signed order upon client, and file proof of service with the court. The order will become effective upon filing of the proof of service. (CRC 3.1362(e).)

GLOM appears to be a California Nonprofit Religious Corporation (FAC para 10(a)) and therefore must appear though counsel. CLD Construction, Inc. v. City of San Ramon (2004) 120 Cal.App.4th 1141, 1149-1150, holds that a pleading filed by an unrepresented corporation is not necessarily void or a nullity, but the Court should order the party to obtain counsel or, if not, it can strike the pleading.

The court ORDERS that on or before 9/18/26 defendant GLOM must appear though counsel.

Counsel must make a reasonable attempt to notify client of the Court's tentative ruling and the process for properly contesting by 4:00 p.m. one court day prior to the date of hearing.

PLEASE NOTE: This tentative ruling will become the ruling of the court if uncontested by 04:00pm the day before your hearing. If you wish to contest the tentative ruling, then both notify opposing counsel directly and the court at the eCourt portal found on the court’s website: www.alameda.courts.ca.gov.

If you have contested the tentative ruling or your tentative ruling reads, “parties to appear,” please use the following link to access your hearing at the appropriate date and time: https://alameda-courts-ca-gov.zoomgov.com/my/department21. If no party has contested the tentative ruling, then no appearance is necessary.
