24CV058078: MCADAMS ENERGY VENTURES, INC, A CORPORATION vs PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY, A CORPORATION, et al. 06/30/2026 Hearing on Motion to be Relieved as Counsel filed by Thomas G Del Beccaro (Attorney) CRS# 176439920731 in Department 517

Tentative Ruling - 06/26/2026 Keith Fong

The Motion to Be Relieved as Counsel filed by Thomas G Del Beccaro on 02/02/2026 is Granted.

Parties and counsel to appear; Zoom is OK.

The unopposed motion of attorney Thomas G. Del Beccaro of Del Beccaro, Hornsby & Blake to be relieved as counsel for Plaintiff McAdams Energy Ventures, Inc. is GRANTED. (CRC 3.1362.)

The court will sign Counsel's proposed order. (MC-053.) Counsel must serve the signed order upon Plaintiff, and file proof of service with the court. The order will become effective upon filing of the proof of service. (CRC 3.1362(e).)

Plaintiff is a corporation; a corporation must be represented by an attorney. CLD Construction, Inc. v. City of San Ramon (2004) 120 Cal.App.4th 1141, 1149-1150, holds that a pleading filed by an unrepresented corporation is not necessarily void or a nullity, but the Court should order the party to obtain counsel or, if not, it can strike its pleading. Plaintiff is advised that it cannot appear without counsel. The Court will set a deadline by which Plaintiff must retain new counsel.

Counsel shall make a reasonable attempt to notify Plaintiff of the Court’s tentative ruling and the process for properly contesting by 4:00 p.m. one court day prior to the date of hearing.
