Tentative Rulings. Parties and counsel appearing for oral argument should address the tentative decision. Parties may submit on the tentative decision by email, with a copy to all other parties in the matter, to courtroom21@ventura.courts.ca.gov before 8:00 a.m. on the day set for the hearing, with a subject line that includes “SUBMISSION ON TENTATIVE”, Case Number, Title and Party. The following is a statement of the Court’s tentative ruling. The Court may adopt, modify or reject the tentative ruling after hearing. The tentative ruling has no legal effect unless and until adopted by the Court.

Motions:

1. Defendant’s Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Responses to Form Interrogatories-Employment Law and Special Interrogatories, Set One (unopposed);

2. Defendant’s Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Responses to Defendant County of Ventura’s Demand for Inspection and Production of Documents and Other Tangible Things, Set One (unopposed); and

3. Defendant’s Motion for an Order to Deem Requests for Admission, Set One Admitted (unopposed).

Tentative Ruling: Defendant’s Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Responses to Form Interrogatories-Employment Law and Special Interrogatories, Set One; Motion to Compel Plaintiff’s Responses to Defendant County of Ventura’s Demand for Inspection and Production of Documents and Other Tangible Things, Set One; and Motion for an Order to Deem Requests for Admission, Set One Admitted are GRANTED.

Plaintiff Emma Godinez is ordered to provide code-compliant responses, without objections, to Defendant’s Form Interrogatories-Employment Law and Special Interrogatories, and to Defendant’s Demand for Inspection and Production of Documents and Other Tangible Things, Set One within 15 days of the date of service of notice of this order.

The matters stated in Plaintiff’s Request for Admission, Set One are deemed true and genuine, unless Plaintiff has served a response prior to the hearing that substantially complies with the requirements of CCP § 2033.280(c). No such response has been submitted as of 11/17/25.

2025CUWT047382: EMMA GODINEZ vs COUNTY OF VENTURA

Defendant’s request for sanctions of $1,912.50 per motion is GRANTED in PART. Plaintiff is ordered to pay Defendant monetary sanctions in the amount of $1,275 total, for all three motions. The sanctions of $1,275 are to be paid by Plaintiff to Defense counsel within 15 days of the date of service of notice of this order.

Notice to be provided by Defendant within two (2) days.
