Ruling

2025PRCE053045: IN THE MATTER OF MICHAEL EDWARD MAY 06/26/2026 in Department J6 Hearing on Petition for Appointment of Conservator of the Person and Estate

The Court intends to grant the petition for conservatorship.

The Court will deny any orders under Probate Code section 2356.5 absent a showing that schizoaffective disorder is a major neurocognitive disorder as defined in the last published edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. (Prob. Code, § 2356.5, subd. (a)(1).) It is the Court’s understanding that schizoaffective disorder is a separate psychotic disorder.

Bond will be $21,000
